Kevin Minor Family awarded USTA National Family of the Year

CHICAGO, IL – The Kevin Minor Legacy Fund is excited to announce that the Minor Family has been selected as the recipient of the highly prestigious 2023 United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Family of the Year Award. This accolade recognizes the outstanding service and dedication of the Minor family in advancing the game of tennis across the nation.

The USTA National Family of the Year Award will be presented to the Minor family, alongside other awards to outstanding individuals and organizations, at the 2024 Annual Meeting and Conference to be held from April 12th to 15th in Orlando, FL. This distinguished recognition is a testament to the contributions made by the Minor family in fostering accessibility and affordability for young tennis players through a $5,000 annual scholarship. 

The scholarship continues the legacy of Kevin Minor, a cherished figure in the Chicago tennis community. Kevin dedicated his life to promoting children’s participation in the sport. His efforts in serving the USTA and providing guidance to families navigating the junior tournament landscape were widely acknowledged. Furthermore, the successes achieved by his three daughters as NCAA Division I athletes were a testament to his profound impact, resulting in the Minor Family being bestowed with the 2023 USTA Chicago District and USTA Midwest Family of the Year Awards.

The USTA National Family of the Year Award signifies the steadfast commitment the Minor Family has made to the sport. The Family extends its sincerest gratitude to the USTA Awards Committee for selecting them for the honor.
